General Meeting

Speaker: Ian Adamson—Director of Mateo Lodge in Redwood City

Where: Good Samaritan Hospital Auditorium 2425 Samaritan Dr, San Jose

When: Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 at 7:30PM—9:00PM

If you are a consumer, family member or provider, you will want to attend this meeting. If you feel overwhelmed, hopeless and discouraged you MUST attend this meeting. If you have tried everything and feel there is no solution, this meeting could provide you or your loved one the encouragement to find a new path, new answers, new courage. And most importantly, the determination to reconnect with the person who got lost in the maze of treatments, programs, and "helpers" who did more harm than good.

Our March speaker will be Ian Adamson, Director of Mateo Lodge in Redwood City. Ian has worked with people experiencing mental illness for over 30 years. He began Mateo Lodge as a refuge for people who are homeless, suffering from addictions and struggling with mental illness. His skill at helping people reclaim their lives after years of hopelessness is nothing short of miraculous.

At Mateo Lodge, he directs a 24/7 outreach program to homeless people who have given up on themselves. Ian will share some of his stories of recovery and hope. He has an uncanny , down-to-earth approach and understanding of what each person needs to heal him/herself. And to top it all off, he is a fantastic speaker. An icon in San Mateo County, Ian is someone you definitely will not want to miss hearing.
